Impact of AI on Jobs in Vedic Astrology

I was one of the first astrologers to openly speak about the drastic impact artificial intelligence would have on the world.

I began discussing it in 2019 — long before ChatGPT existed. I even spoke about how quickly this shift would arrive and how deeply it would affect employment, business and society.

Since then, I have written several private, members-only newsletters, conducted webinars for my students and guided many of my clients on how to prepare.

However, I now feel this information should also be available to the general public.

This article is not being written to create fear. It is being written so that people can understand what is happening, what may come next and how to prepare their careers, businesses and finances before the disruption becomes more intense.

Why Saturn Matters When We Study the Future of Employment

To understand where employment is heading, we need to track Saturn.

In astrology, Saturn represents work, labour, profession, livelihood, responsibility, large institutions and the structures that hold society together. Its movement through each zodiac sign shows how these structures evolve - and where they begin to weaken.

Saturn moves slowly. Therefore, it does not usually represent a passing trend. It reveals a larger structural cycle unfolding over several years.

The shift we are experiencing today can be understood through Saturn’s movement from Aquarius into Pisces, followed by its future movement through Aries and Taurus.

Using the sidereal zodiac followed in Vedic astrology, the broad sequence is:

• Saturn in Aquarius: the mass adoption of artificial intelligence.
• Saturn in Pisces: the ending of the old employment cycle.
• Saturn in Aries: the unstable birth of a new professional world.
• Saturn in Taurus: the financial consequences, followed by gradual stabilisation.

Saturn in Aquarius: The Birth of AI Mass Adoption

Aquarius represents artificial intelligence, innovation, networks, unconventional systems and technology created for collective use. It is also co-ruled by Rahu, the astrological force most strongly connected with artificial intelligence, virtual realities and technological disruption.

Saturn first touched sidereal Aquarius in 2022 and settled there in January 2023. ChatGPT was released publicly on November 30, 2022 - within this larger transition window - and rapidly brought generative AI into public consciousness.

This was not merely the arrival of another technology product. It changed how ordinary people understood intelligence itself.

For the first time, millions of people could directly interact with a system that could write, analyze, code, create, advise and solve problems in seconds.

The Aquarius phase did two important things:

1. It introduced AI to the masses.
2. It imprinted the need for AI integration into the minds of business leaders, investors and professionals.

Companies began launching AI products, investors rushed to fund them and employees started bringing AI tools into their daily work.

The speed of adoption has been extraordinary. Stanford’s 2026 AI Index reports that the share of surveyed organisations using AI in at least one business function increased from 55% in 2023 to 78% in 2024 and 88% in 2025. This is exactly what mass adoption looks like.

Aquarius birthed the idea.

Pisces is now forcing society to live with its consequences.

Saturn in Pisces: The End of the Old Employment Cycle

Saturn entered sidereal Pisces on March 29, 2025.

Pisces is the 12th and final sign of the zodiac. Pisces represents completion, dissolution, uncertainty, disappearance and the ending of a cycle.

When the planet governing work and employment moves into the sign of endings, the structures that once defined professional life begin to dissolve.

This does not mean that every job suddenly disappears. It means that the old understanding of a job starts losing its shape.

The traditional model was simple:

• Study one subject.
• Enter one profession.
• Join a stable organisation.
• Build experience.
• Receive regular promotions.
• Depend on one salary until retirement.

That model is no longer reliable.

1. Job Loss, Separation and the Elimination of Roles

Pisces governs loss, separation and exit. Saturn’s presence here therefore indicates separation from employment through layoffs, forced resignations, early retirement and the elimination of positions. In many cases, people may not simply lose one job and find a similar one elsewhere. The role itself may cease to exist because the work it involved is either automated, absorbed into another position or no longer required.

2. The Disappearance of Human Labour

Pisces represents disappearance and everything that operates invisibly or behind the scenes. When Saturn (human labour) enters this sign, labour itself begins disappearing from view. Work will continue to be completed, but there may be fewer visible employees performing it. AI systems, automated processes and digital agents will increasingly operate in the background, producing output that previously required entire teams.

3. The Dissolution of Traditional Job Structures

Saturn creates structure, hierarchy, boundaries and clearly defined responsibilities. Pisces dissolves boundaries. Their combination weakens the traditional structure of employment. The separation between one role and another will become unclear, and one person may be expected to perform the work of several departments with the help of AI. The boundaries between employee, consultant, freelancer and entrepreneur will also become increasingly blurred.

4. Confusion and a Lack of Career Direction

Pisces is a dual water sign, which means it does not provide Saturn with a fixed direction or stable foundation. Saturn seeks consistency, predictability and long-term security, while Pisces creates movement without a clearly visible destination. This is why the job market will remain confusing throughout this transit. Companies will repeatedly restructure, job descriptions will keep changing and professionals may struggle to understand which skills or career paths will remain valuable.

6. Knowledge-Based Professions Under Pressure

Pisces is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of knowledge, education, guidance and expertise. Saturn’s transit through Jupiter’s sign shows that the disruption will not remain limited to physical or repetitive work. It will strongly affect knowledge-based professions such as writing, consulting, teaching, law, finance, software and research. AI will make knowledge widely and instantly available, weakening the value of qualifications unless they are supported by judgement, experience and genuine expertise.

7. The Removal of Geographical Boundaries

As the natural twelfth sign, Pisces represents foreign countries, distant places and work performed without physical proximity. Saturn’s presence here will further remove geographical boundaries from employment. A person will no longer compete only with professionals in their own city or country. They will compete with global talent, remote workers, international contractors and AI systems that can operate from anywhere and at any time.

8. Detachment From Professional Identity

Pisces is also a sign of surrender and detachment. Its deeper purpose is to make us release what can no longer continue. During this transit, many people will be forced to detach from professional identities they have carried for years. Someone who has always defined themselves through one company, qualification or career may have to accept that the old path has completed its purpose.

This is not yet the beginning of a stable new system. It is the clearing and closure that must happen before Saturn enters Aries and begins an entirely new employment cycle.

Saturn in Aries: The Most Unstable Phase of the Transition

Saturn first enters sidereal Aries in June 2027. Because of retrograde movement, it briefly returns to Pisces before beginning its main Aries phase in February 2028. The larger Aries transition continues into 2030.

If Pisces represents the ending of the old cycle, Aries (being the 1st zodiac sign) represents the beginning of the new one.

However, Saturn is debilitated (weakest) in Aries. This is the sign in which Saturn — representing stability, patience, employment and long-term structure — is at its weakest.

This is why I expect the Aries phase to be the most difficult and confusing part of the employment transition.

The old system will have broken down, but the new system will not yet be mature enough to replace it.

What Saturn debilitated in Aries may bring

1. Maximum employment instability

People will struggle to find reliable work, stable income or a clear long-term direction.

Many will try several careers, businesses or income sources without knowing which one can last. Starting will become easy; sustaining something will become difficult.

2. Ruthless competition

Aries is ruled by Mars. It represents conflict, speed, courage, aggression and survival.

The job market may become intensely competitive. People will compete not only with other applicants but also with global talent, independent contractors, automated systems and AI agents.

Average work will struggle to survive because technology will make average output abundant.

3. A survival-of-the-fittest mentality

Companies will become less sentimental and more performance-driven.

Workers will be judged by measurable output rather than qualifications, tenure or loyalty. The question will no longer be, “How many years have you worked?” but, “What can you produce, how quickly can you adapt and what responsibility can you independently carry?”

4. Loss of trust in employment

When stable companies can no longer promise stable careers, people will begin questioning the value of traditional employment itself.

Loyalty between employer and employee will weaken further. More people will prefer self-employment, small businesses, project-based work, creator-led income, partnerships or portfolio careers.

5. Youth unemployment and a broken first step

Young people will experience this period most intensely.

They could enter the job market with degrees designed for a world that no longer exists, while competing for entry-level work that has already been automated, compressed or outsourced.

This can create frustration, anger, political pressure and social conflict - especially if an entire generation feels it followed the rules but received no livelihood in return.

6. The birth of entirely new careers

Aries is also the first sign of the zodiac. Therefore, this period is not only destructive.

It begins the next generation of work.

New categories of careers, ownership models and businesses will emerge. Many may look insignificant, unstable or even strange at first. The people who learn early, experiment intelligently and solve real problems will help build the professional structures that later generations consider normal.

Aries rewards pioneers — but it punishes blind impulsiveness.

The answer is not to chase every new trend. It is to experiment quickly while building patiently.

Saturn in Taurus: Financial Pressure, Support and Gradual Stability

Saturn first touches sidereal Taurus in 2029 and settles there in 2030.

Taurus represents money, food, resources, possessions, security and the basic material requirements of life.

By the time Saturn reaches Taurus, society will have to confront the accumulated financial consequences of the Pisces and Aries periods:

• Long-term joblessness.
• Youth unemployment.
• Unstable household income.
• Reduced savings.
• Debt pressure.
• Loss of health, housing or food security.
• A widening gap between those who own productive technology and those whose labour has lost value.

Governments may have no choice but to expand financial support, employment assistance, food security and other forms of social protection.

Discussions around universal basic income, automation taxes or alternative income-support systems may move from theory into serious policy debate.

Why Taurus can also bring hope

Saturn is far more comfortable in Taurus than it is in Aries. Taurus is a fixed earth sign ruled by Venus, a friendly planet to Saturn.

This brings the possibility of rebuilding.

After years of disruption, people will begin discovering which new careers are sustainable, which business models genuinely create value and how income can be generated in a world where AI performs a large share of routine work.

We may see:

• More stable compensation models for project-based work.
• Better regulation of AI-led businesses.
• New financial protections for independent workers.
• A clearer value placed on human trust, accountability and expertise.
• Practical education replacing outdated degrees.
• Smaller but more sustainable businesses.
• New systems for sharing the productivity gains created by AI.

Taurus does not promise an instant recovery.

It represents the slow return of material stability after the confusion of Aries.

This Is Not the End of Work - It Is the End of Familiar Work

The future is unlikely to be as simple as “AI takes every job.”

AI will remove some roles, transform many others and create professions that do not yet exist.

The deeper problem is timing.

Old roles can disappear faster than people can retrain. Companies can adopt technology faster than governments can update policy. Universities can continue teaching outdated skills long after the market has stopped valuing them.

Therefore, even if more jobs are eventually created than destroyed, the transition can still produce years of insecurity and suffering.

Astrology helps us understand the sequence:

• Aquarius introduces the technology.
• Pisces dissolves the old structure.
• Aries begins the new cycle through conflict and experimentation.
• Taurus converts the chaos into a more stable financial system.

How Individuals Should Prepare Now

The worst strategy is to wait until your employer tells you that your role has changed.

Preparation must begin before the crisis becomes personal.

1. Stop identifying with a job title

Your title may disappear even when your underlying abilities remain valuable.

Do not think only, “I am an accountant,” “I am a designer,” or “I am a developer.”

Ask:

• Which problems can I solve?
• Which decisions can I make?
• Which outcomes can I create?
• Which responsibilities can people trust me to own?

Skills can move across industries. Titles often cannot.

2. Break your role into tasks

Do not ask whether AI will replace your entire profession.

List every task you perform and divide them into three groups:

• Tasks AI can already do.
• Tasks AI can help you do faster.
• Tasks that still require human judgement, trust, responsibility or relationships.

This will show you exactly where you are vulnerable and where you need to grow.

3. Learn to work with AI

Avoiding AI will not protect you from it.

Learn how to use it for research, analysis, communication, automation and decision support within your field. The goal is not to become a generic “AI expert.” The goal is to become unusually effective in your own profession because you understand both the work and the technology.

4. Build what AI struggles to own

Strengthen the qualities that become more valuable when output is abundant:

• Judgement.
• Accountability.
• Leadership.
• Negotiation.
• Emotional intelligence.
• Original taste.
• Ethical decision-making.
• Deep domain expertise.
• The ability to earn trust.

AI can produce an answer. It cannot always carry the consequences of that answer.

5. Build proof of work

Qualifications alone will become less powerful.

Create visible evidence of your abilities: projects, case studies, results, writing, products, testimonials or a body of work that demonstrates what you can do.

In a highly competitive Aries-style market, proof will matter more than promises.

6. Reduce dependence on one income source

Not everyone needs to become an entrepreneur.

However, depending entirely on one employer, one client, one industry or one platform will become increasingly risky.

Build a second skill, an independent professional identity, a small side income or a network that can help you move if your primary work becomes unstable.

7. Strengthen your financial foundation

Reduce unnecessary fixed expenses and high-cost debt. Build an emergency fund wherever possible. Avoid increasing your lifestyle simply because your current salary is comfortable.

The purpose is not fear.

Financial breathing room gives you the freedom to retrain, reject a bad opportunity or survive a period of transition without making desperate decisions.

8. Invest in relationships

When formal career ladders weaken, trusted relationships become more important.

Many future opportunities will come through reputation, referrals, communities and people who already know the quality of your work.

9. Choose depth over constant trend-chasing

During uncertain periods, people chase every new course, tool and business model.

This creates activity without progress.

Choose one valuable domain, understand it deeply and use AI to expand your ability within it. The combination of domain expertise and AI fluency will be far stronger than shallow knowledge of dozens of tools.

10. Prepare psychologically

A changing career does not mean a failed life.

People who tie their entire identity to one profession may suffer even when they have the ability to rebuild. Flexibility, emotional stability and the willingness to begin again will become genuine economic advantages.

How Businesses Should Prepare

Businesses should not treat AI as merely another software purchase.

They should ask:

• Which parts of our business will become cheaper and easier for everyone?
• What will customers still trust humans to do?
• Where must a person remain accountable?
• Which employees can be retrained before roles are removed?
• How do we prevent short-term efficiency from destroying long-term expertise?
• What happens if our current product becomes a free AI feature?

The strongest businesses will not be the ones that automate everything blindly.

They will be the ones that use AI to reduce unnecessary work while preserving human judgement, customer trust, institutional memory and genuine differentiation.

Your Personal Horoscope Still Matters

These transits describe the collective environment. They will not affect every person in the same way.

For one person, the period may bring job loss. For another, it may bring a promotion in an AI-led company. Someone else may leave employment and build a successful business precisely because the old structure is changing.

Your natal Saturn, the condition of your 10th and 6th houses, your running dasha and the exact degrees activated by these transits determine how the larger cycle enters your personal life.
