The short answer

UNFOLD uses your date, time and place of birth to calculate a Vedic birth chart. It prepares planetary positions, signs, houses, nakshatras, dashas, Bhuktis and current transits, then saves the chart to your profile. When you ask a question, the app gives the AI the relevant calculated facts and your permitted life context instead of asking it to invent a chart from prose.

Your birthplace becomes coordinates and a time zone

A place name alone is not enough to calculate an exact chart. UNFOLD resolves the birthplace to geographic coordinates and applies the historical time-zone and daylight-saving rules for the birth date. This matters because a time-zone error can change the Ascendant, houses and some timing calculations.

Use the most specific city and country available. If several places share the same name, confirm that the selected location is the correct one.

The chart is calculated before interpretation

UNFOLD uses Swiss Ephemeris to calculate planetary positions. The system prepares Rashi, houses, nakshatras, aspects, Vimshottari dasha, Bhukti periods and current transits before the language model writes an interpretation.

This separation keeps astronomical calculation and language generation in their proper roles. The AI reads structured chart facts; it does not decide where a planet was located while composing the answer.

Each profile keeps its own chart and context

UNFOLD supports up to four profiles. Each profile has a separate chart, conversation history and memory, so a partner's, parent's or child's information is not mixed into the user's own reading. Only add another person's birth details with their knowledge and permission.

You ask in ordinary language

You do not need to know which house Saturn occupies before asking a question. You can explain that work has felt unusually heavy, that two job offers need to be compared, or that a move must be decided within six months. UNFOLD identifies the chart factors relevant to the question and explains them in conversation.

Specific questions usually produce more useful discussions. 'I need to choose between two jobs this month' gives the reading a decision and a time window. 'Tell me about my career' leaves both undefined.

You can question the answer

Ask which dasha, Bhukti or transit supports a conclusion. Ask what evidence points in another direction. Ask whether the timing would change if the birth time were ten minutes earlier. A useful interpretation should become clearer when questioned, not retreat behind certainty.

What UNFOLD stores

UNFOLD stores the information needed to provide the service, including account details, birth information, saved profiles, conversation history and profile memory. Its privacy policy explains relevant providers, user rights, retention and deletion controls. Deleting a profile removes the chart and memories associated with that profile; account deletion removes the account data covered by the product's deletion process.

If the birth time is uncertain

A small difference can matter near an Ascendant, house or divisional-chart boundary. A larger error can change the house structure and the timing interpretation more substantially. Tell UNFOLD when the recorded time is approximate and treat exact house or timing statements with appropriate caution. UNFOLD does not currently perform formal birth-time rectification.

What UNFOLD cannot do

It cannot guarantee that an event will happen.
It cannot know facts that you have not provided.
It cannot remove the uncertainty created by an unreliable birth time.
It cannot replace medical, legal, financial or mental-health professionals.
It cannot make every AI interpretation correct simply because the chart calculation is correct.

Before you begin

Use the most reliable birth certificate or family record available, confirm the city and country, and begin with one concrete question and a real timeframe. The calculated chart gives the conversation its foundation. Clear context and thoughtful follow-up questions make that conversation more useful.
