Mercury Turns Inward in Libra

**Mercury** stations retrograde at 27° **Libra** on **October 24**, and it will stay retrograde until mid-November. This is not a rare event. **Mercury** reverses direction three or four times a year. What makes this one different is where it happens. **Libra** is the sign of relationships, agreements, and keeping the peace, and **Mercury** is the planet of speech, contracts, and paperwork. When the planet of communication turns backward in the sign of partnership, the conversation goes inward.

Expect the usual **Mercury retrograde** themes in a **Libra** setting. Messages get misread. A text meant as casual lands as cold. An old argument resurfaces with someone you thought you had settled things with. Contracts and agreements need a second look, especially anything involving two parties, a shared asset, or a signature. __Do not sign anything binding during this window unless you have read every line twice.__ What feels like a small misunderstanding now can become a real dispute later.

The deeper story is about balance. **Libra** wants harmony, and **Mercury** retrograde wants honesty. Those two pull against each other. You may find yourself agreeing to something you do not actually want, just to keep the peace. Or you may finally say the thing you have been swallowing for months. Both are possible. The question is whether you are speaking to resolve something or speaking to avoid it.

This lasts roughly three weeks, so treat it as a season, not a moment. Slow down before you reply. Re-read the email before you send it. If a conversation with a partner, a friend, or a business associate feels off, ask a direct question instead of guessing. Old contacts may return during this period. That is normal. Not every reappearance needs a response.

Avoid starting a new partnership, launching a joint venture, or making a major purchase with someone else during this stretch. Also avoid the temptation to win an argument at all costs. **Mercury** retrograde rewards the person who listens more than the person who talks fastest.

Use the next three weeks to review, not to decide. The clarity you are looking for arrives after **Mercury** goes direct.
